Report on the Accomplishment of the Tulu Koota Kuwait Silver Jubilee Memorial Merit Scholarship – Successful Inaugural Disbursement

Our spirits were lifted by a deep sense of fulfillment, tinged with profound humility and fierce pride of witnessing greatness when we met Young India — a generation shining with hope and poised for a bright future despite many challenges on their path. It is an absolute privilege to reach and recognize the dedicated school toppers who embody this promise and are the deserving recipients of the Tulu Koota Kuwait Silver Jubilee Memorial Merit Scholarship.

To commemorate the silver jubilee of Tulu Koota Kuwait (TKK), a new initiative — the Silver Jubilee Memorial Merit Scholarship—was launched in 2025. This program represents a unique approach to our long-standing commitment to educational support. Since inception, Tulu Koota Kuwait has consistently aided students and schools through financial assistance programs, including scholarships, books, uniforms, and school facilities.

This new merit scholarship was founded with a clear goal: to identify, recognize, and resource meritorious students from government schools with sustainable financial assistance. It is not limited to one year but is intended as a long-term, continuous initiative that motivates and empowers students to pursue excellence.

We are proud to report the successful disbursement of the scholarship to 30 deserving students, amounting to a total of INR 2,45,000/- for the first year under this initiative. A merit certificate and scholarship of INR 10,000/- were awarded to 12th Standard toppers and INR 7,500/- to 10th Standard toppers who achieved the highest marks during the 2024–2025 academic year.

The TKK Silver Jubilee Memorial Scholarship is not merely an endowment; it is an investment guided by timeless wisdom. Our founding belief, encapsulated in the Sanskrit verse “Vidyaa Dadati Vinayam” (Knowledge imparts humility), emphasizes that true education builds both intellect and character. By supporting exceptional students, we cultivate disciplined, compassionate citizens who can use their opportunities to practice Dharmam (righteous duty) and achieve true, lasting Sukham (happiness).

This scholarship stands as a testament to Tulu Koota Kuwait’s devotion to the community. By focusing on government school students, the organization ensures equitable opportunities for those most in need. What began as a formal scholarship distribution turned into a profoundly humbling experience. Despite limited facilities and deteriorating infrastructure in schools, the drive and dedication of both teachers and students were inspirational.

The contrast between the physical environment and the intellectual aspiration we witnessed was striking. We met bright, eager students — many from families unable to afford private schooling — who have achieved academic excellence through sheer determination and hard work. The gratitude and joy reflected in the faces of these students and their teachers fully justified the mission behind the TKK Memorial Scholarship.

The successful implementation of the first year of the Tulu Koota Kuwait Silver Jubilee Memorial Merit Scholarship fills our organization with immense pride. It reinforces our belief in the transformative power of education and strengthens our resolve to continue supporting meritorious students annually — building a legacy of empowerment and educational excellence.

Tulu Koota Kuwait President Mr. Shankar Shetty and all committee members express heartfelt gratitude to the members, donors, school teachers, and well-wishers who played a vital role in making this new educational initiative a resounding success. All proceeds from community fundraising efforts, including cultural events such as the Kapikad comedy show, continue to support this scholarship fund.
