Tulu Koota Kuwait Competitions were held at the Indian Community School Salmiya

Tulu Koota Kuwait Competitions were held at the Indian Community School Salmiya on 10th October 2014 with great enthusiasm and excitement. People of all ages participated in various competitions held for different age groups.

The program started with a warm welcome from our upcoming generation, the children of Tulu Koota Kuwait, Sakshi Rao and Kartikeya Brahma. They set the mood for the day with their beautiful smiles and warmth. A welcome prayer was sung by Madhav Naik. The program kick started with words of inspiration from Mr. Tharendra Shettigar, the President of Tulu Koota Kuwait and the lighting of the lamp by the ladies of the Committee.

The children excelled in various fields. The toddlers had a videography contest where activities of the child were taken into consideration for judging and was also displayed in the hall. The children from 2-4 had o dress up traditionally, while the children from 4-6 showed their talent though Tulu Nadu Veerer fancy dress and colouring. Age group 6-9 danced and competed in drawing competition. While the children of 9-12 displayed their talent through a unique talent show and Essay Writing competition.

The Ladies competed in “Salad Dressing” and “Shringara”. Their excitement was worth seeing. Men excelled in Making Rangoli and Dhoti Wrapping, while the couples had a dance competition. Apart from the above games there was Fancy Dress and Dance for groups open to all. It was a feast to see the children and adults sizzle in their beautiful costumes and their dresses.

The event was well coordinated by Shalini Vijay while the program was conducted by Manoj Bangera and Sushma Bangera. Tasty Mangalorean food was served by Banana Leaves Restaurant, photography was done by Charith Shetty and Sound and Light were by Anand Illuminations. The event was concluded by a vote of thanks by the General Secretary, Satish Acharya, Prize distribution and by singing our National Anthem.
